Jackson is proud to present the Jackson Bloodline Tour at local music stores throughout the U.S. featuring Jackson's own Chris Cannella.
Cannella is not only Jackson's Product Manager and Artist Relations representative, but also a formidably-talented guitarist, songwriter and vocalist who wields his many Jackson guitar models in his North American metal band Autumn's End.
Despite his intense and intimidating appearance, Cannella is a soft-spoken walking encyclopedia of metal in general and Jackson in particular. Musicians and music fans are invited to join Chris as he demonstrates and explains his lightening-fast guitar techniques, not by using his own gear, but rather whatever's in the store at the time. Additionally, he'll provide tone tricks and overall guitar setup tips.
Cannella will also explain Jackson's dark yet colorful past; explain the brand's unique Bloodline and genre-defining, groundbreaking firsts—such as the advent of the original Rhoads guitar, insane custom paint jobs, and compound radius fingerboards. He'll show how Jackson can find a home in other musical genres, share a little music theory, and discuss soloing styles and speed. Through all of it, he'll open the floor to answer any questions you might have regarding all-things Jackson.
It's cool, comprehensive and captivating. It's Jackson, connecting with musicians at Jackson retailers nationwide.

In 2009 everybody is a producer. Production tools are available to everybody as they are more affordable than ever. But will that make you a great producer? The answer is no. But what really makes a great producer? Just being able to put a product out puts you in the same category as everybody else who has a DAW and is churning out product from their Studio, Project Studio or bedroom. Production is a craft and like every great craftsman it needs to be learned and developed over a period of time.
Join Grammy winning producer Jason Miles for a special clinic at Alto music on "The Art of Production" to understand and get insights from a 35 year veteran of the music world as he tells you what it will take for you to be a great producer and have a career that can last for years. Jason has a Grammy, 4 Grammy nominations, an Emny nomination, Cine Golden Eagle Award for his production work. He has worked with artists such as Miles Davis,Luther Vandross, Sting, Chaka Kahn, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Grover Washington Jr, Anita Baker,George Benson, Suzy Bogguss and many many more. This workshop will be a insight into what it takes to raise your skills as a producer and how knowing the equiptment you use is only a small part of what it takes to gain the insight and get the confidence of the artists you work with. He will discuss the great producers he worked during the 1980's to help him understand what it will take to rise in the ranks and be globally recognized by great artists who want to use your production services.
During these times of uncertainty in the music business only the best and most talented will survive. Get valuable insights from Jason as he talks about studio techniques, understanding what a great song is and how to get the very best performances from the artists you are working with.

We just booked a drum tuning clinic featuring Evans drumheads for Wednesday September 9th (Yes--that's the first day back to school for a lot of you). Josh Touchton from Evans drumheads will be here to discuss head combinations and tuning techniques. Josh will also spread some enlightenment on the different types of heads available from Evans, and what sounds can be expected from the various heads. Drummers have had issues about tuning their drums ever since the beginning of drumming. We see of a lot of you in here asking tuning questions, or asking us to tune drums or change heads for you (wihch, by the way, is no problem and you are always welcome to bring in your drums for tuning help). So, we are sure that this clinic will help you to tackle any tuning issues you may have. Also---the first 10 people to bring in their snare drum for tuning at this clinic will receive a free (14") G1 drumhead and Josh will put it on your drum for you and everything. Evans will also have some other goodies for give-aways and whatnot.
The tentative start time for this clinic will be 6:30pm(as with most of our drum clinics here at the store). Please email Donny at drums@altomusic.com for further info regarding this clinic. Hope to see you there!
