This wasn't a practical purchase. I wasn't shopping for a monosynth, but I really liked the look of this one.

After a week with it, I now love the look, but I'm also blown away by how pleasing and large a single Jupiter voice can sound.

It invites being played and is very tactile. A silly amount of real estate is devoted to the arpeggiator, but the buttons look and feel satisfying enough to earn their keep.

The resonance sounds wrongly calibrated. By comparison, their JT Mini doesn't have this issue. It's not ideal and likely strays from a real Jupiter, but the sound still beat my expectations: very analog with plenty of sweet spots.

Tuning is fairly unstable until it completely warms up, and while it takes just one button press to calibrate, the routine takes a little longer than expected for a single voice.

The build quality is good. Not extremely robust, but not plasticky. It is metal all around, with end cheeks which I think are real wood. The knobs and pots are plasticky, though. They are a bit wobbly but acceptable.

Nitpicky detail: the packaging is slightly disappointing. I like keeping synth boxes nice, but Behringer seems to be pivoting to basic cardboard, which is plenty sturdy, but this shipped without an outer box. UPS then misrouted it all over the country, leaving it covered in streaks and battle scars.

I really like the thing, though. It's enjoyable to play. I have little use for another analog monosynth, but I still don't want to part with this JP-2.
