The Bass guitar that started it all, the Fender “P-Bass,” has “walked” its way through time without losing any excitement or relevance since 1952. Offered here decked out in 1959 Specs, with a relic’d Aqua Marine Pearl relacquer finish with matching head cap. The body is cut from hand-selected alder for resonance and lightweight. Comfortable and stable, the quartersawn roasted maple neck features dark toner added to the Nitrocellulose finish, adding to the beautifully aged look and smooth feel. The fast/slim C-shaped neck profile is capped with 9mm flat-Lam AAA Rosewood “slab” board, “vintage upgrade” 45085 fret wire, and ’59 spec 1.75” Bone Nut.
A relic 1959-style gold anodized ‘guard is loaded with a hand-wound Custom Shop ’62 P-bass pickup-- complete with a removable chrome cover and knurled volume and tone controls.
