The Ray 35 Classic Active Bass is a modern take on a timeless design. By changing minor details of their Ray 35 standard model, Sterling has given the CA it's own air of heritage and history. Having the body be cut as a full slab instead of being contoured on the back and top definitely lends the CA to the feel of older Stingray basses. Add to that the simplified 2-band eq, glossy finish neck, and traditional finishes and the sum result is a instrument that has the vibe of classic basses while maintaining stability and quality from modern accoutrements.
