The teenage engineering OB-4 is a unique speaker that can record, rewind, and loop anything you play through it. It's more than just a simple boom box. Dubbed as the "Magic Radio," OB-4 continuously memorizes everything you listen to on an endless looping tape. You can rewind, time-bend, or loop a radio episode with a flick of your fingertips — just like magic!

Aside from the Bluetooth speaker and FM radio functions, you can explore the experimental features of OB-4's disk mode. The disk mode allows you to play 30 musical mantras, zone out to drone-generated radio snippets, and use the built-in metronome for high-definition stereo recording.

The OB-4 (Ortho Book 4) is designed to sound fantastic anywhere. It boasts high-efficiency ferrofluid-cooled tweeters and long-throw high-power woofers. The four tailor-engineered neodymium drivers produce a natural stereo sound like no other.

Listen to music from your phone or MP3 player using the 3.5mm stereo line input or Bluetooth connectivity. OB-4 supports Bluetooth 5.0 LE and AAC wireless audio codec. Easily sync your Android or iOS device and groove to high-quality audio instantly.

Integrated Smart Antenna

Listen to any FM radio station straight through the OB-4. The unit works at 52Hz – 25000Hz frequency range. The spiral antenna neatly integrates into the handle-stand. You can use the extended FM antenna if you require a stronger radio signal.

Loop an Episode

You can loop a radio show played through OB-4. The media-instrument can record up to 2 hours of music playback. Never miss a thing again.

The Magic Radio also features a digital Tape Transport function that allows you to rewind, slow down, and fast forward songs.

Never Miss a Beat

Activate Disk Mode to access the built-in Metronome. You can adjust the tempo from 1-800 BPM.

OB-4 can also generate an endless ambient track based on parts of the FM radio using the Ambient function.

The last function on Disk Mode is Karma. It offers a collection of mantra sounds.

Control Wirelessly

The companion orthoplay app enables you to configure the Magic Radio's settings or upgrade its firmware remotely.

You can also get teenage engineering's Ortho Remote to wirelessly adjust OB-4's volume level, playlist, or pause music at up to 20 meters distance.
